“Ben Rose grew up tied to greater Houston’s land. From swimming and fishing in Galveston, to kayaking the Buffalo Bayou, and hiking the trails of Memorial Park and Sam Houston National Forrest – Ben developed a true love for our natural environment. His roots here are deep – his daughters are 7th generation Houstonians, and Ben loves our hometown, its vibrancy and diversity, and the fact that Houston is the living embodiment of the American dream.

Ben is running to protect this dream – to protect Houston and our future. After Hurricane Harvey, and several floods and environmental disasters, it became clear that we must all spring into action. Ben has two daughters Selma and Violet with his wife, Laura, and keeping his hometown a place where his girls can thrive is the reason why he fights.

Ben is uniquely well qualified to serve Harris County as its chief attorney given the challenges we face. Ben is a graduate of Emory University and received his law degree and M.B.A. on full academic scholarship from the University of Houston. After graduating law school, Ben sought an advanced specialization law degree, and received his LL.M. in Environmental Law from Tulane University, where he wrote his doctorial thesis on how to protect Houston’s Ship Channel from hurricanes.

Ben practices civil litigation and environmental law in Houston. He has managed two law firms, served hundreds of clients, and has been named one of the top 40 lawyers under 40 in the State of Texas as well as one of the Top 10 Environmental Lawyers in Texas by the National Trial Lawyers Association.

Ben is grateful for your support and looks forward to serving everyone who finds themselves in the city he loves, and will continue to love wholeheartedly for his entire life.”
